Procedures
The full slate.
Breast Augmentation
Increases breast size using silicone or saline implants, or in some cases fat transfer. Implant choice, position, and incision are matched to the patient's anatomy and goals.
Breast Implant Removal (+/- Lift)
Removal of breast implants, with or without replacement, lift, or fat grafting depending on the patient's tissue and goals. Often called explant surgery.
Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
Raises and reshapes breasts that have descended or lost shape. Removes excess skin and repositions the nipple-areolar complex to a higher position.
Breast Lift with Augmentation
Combines mastopexy and implant placement in a single operation. Addresses both descent and volume loss together.
Breast Reconstruction Revision
Secondary procedures that refine a prior reconstruction — correcting contour, symmetry, implant position, or scarring once the initial reconstruction has healed and settled.
Breast Reduction
Reduces breast size by removing breast tissue, fat, and skin. Often addresses physical symptoms (back, neck, and shoulder pain) in addition to changing the breast shape.
Capsular Contracture Revision
Corrects the hardening of scar tissue around a breast implant. Treatment typically requires removing the capsule and replacing the implant.
Direct-to-Implant Reconstruction
Single-stage reconstruction that places the permanent implant at the time of mastectomy, without a tissue expander. Appropriate for patients with an adequate skin envelope and well-perfused mastectomy flaps.
Gender Affirming Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation tailored to the anatomy of transgender women and non-binary individuals. Implant choice, placement, and surgical approach differ from cisgender augmentation.
Gender Affirming Mastectomy
Chest masculinization surgery for transgender men and non-binary individuals. Removes breast tissue and reshapes the chest contour and nipple position.
Implant Removal and Replacement
Removes existing breast implants and replaces them in the same operation — to change size, switch implant type, or reposition the implant to a different plane. Distinct from removal alone and from capsular contracture surgery.
Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)
Removes excess breast tissue and skin in men with gynecomastia. Surgical approach depends on whether the cause is glandular tissue, fat, or both.
Oncoplastic Reduction
Combines tumor removal with a breast reduction technique, reshaping the breast during the cancer surgery. For patients with larger breasts it can achieve clear margins while improving shape, often avoiding separate reconstruction. Also relevant to patients considering breast reduction.
SWIM Flap Reconstruction
Implant-free breast reconstruction that rebuilds a smaller breast mound from the patient's own remaining skin and tissue at the time of mastectomy — without an implant or a free flap taken from elsewhere on the body. Sometimes described as a Goldilocks-type reconstruction.
